Each person gets a share proportional to the hours they worked: twice the hours, twice the money.

How it is calculated
Add up the whole team's hours; each person gets the part of the total that matches their hours. In the example, Ana worked 8 of the 26 hours, so she gets 8/26 of €487.50: €150.00.
A worked example
€487.50 in tips between four people who worked 26 h in total. The figures come from the same calculation as the calculator.
| Person | Hours | Gets |
|---|---|---|
| Ana | 8 h | €150.00 |
| Carlos | 7 h | €131.25 |
| Laura | 6 h | €112.50 |
| Pedro | 5 h | €93.75 |
| Total | 26 h | €487.50 |
How it was calculated
- 100% by hours: €487.50 ÷ 26 h = €18.75 per hour
Breakdown per person
- Ana: €150.00 (100% by hours) → €150.00
- Carlos: €131.25 (100% by hours) → €131.25
- Laura: €112.50 (100% by hours) → €112.50
- Pedro: €93.75 (100% by hours) → €93.75
See the exact calculation (all decimals)

- Laura: €112.50 (100% by hours) → €112.50
- Pedro: €93.75 (100% by hours) → €93.75
No rounding needed: the amounts are exact.
When it works well
- When shifts have different lengths, or there are full-time and part-time staff.
- When the team wants time worked to count above all.
- If you would rather split part of it equally for everyone, use the mixed rule.
To the cent, always
The split always adds up to the exact total. If rounding leaves spare cents, they go to whoever had the largest fraction, and the calculator shows you.
